Colin Cowherd Critiques Cowboys HC Brian Schottenheimer’s Backward Visor

He highlighted the importance of maintaining standards, pointing out that country clubs and private institutions enforce dress codes, such as collared shirts and jackets. “There’s a reason for that. This isn’t the first time Cowherd has shared his thoughts on this topic. Concerning Redick, Cowherd noted, “We can’t just keep lowering our standards, or pretty soon, hat on backward becomes flip-flops and board shorts to work.” He firmly stated, “If I have to be the mean guy that has to start the national dialogue on standards, so be it. Standards are standards.”
Schottenheimer is set to enter his first season as head coach of the Cowboys, following two seasons as their offensive coordinator (2023-24) and a coaching analyst role in 2022. Dallas will kick off its 2025 preseason on the road against the Los Angeles Rams this Saturday. With the weather projected to be in the mid-60s to mid-70s in Inglewood, CA, the question remains: Will Schottenheimer opt for the backward visor? If he does, Cowherd might just be “punching air.”
